Laima Drazdauskaitė's work, Cemetery Bell, was painted in 1989. The most important character in the painting, a bell, is depicted here from the bottom looking upward, from the so-called "frog's eye view." This is a method of imagery known since the Renaissance period, by which things appear grander than they are.
